You can’t always get what you want

“Censorship is the tool of those who have the need to hide actualities from themselves and from others. Their fear is only their inability to face what is real, and I can’t vent any anger against them; I only feel this appalling sadness. Somewhere in their upbringing, they were shielded against the total facts of our existence.”
-Charles Bukowski

“I have in sincerity pledged myself to your service, as so many of you are pledged to mine. Throughout all my life and with all my heart I shall strive to be worthy of your trust”.
– Queen Elizabeth II

If there is such concern about the response of the public to a member of the BRF …. then quietly remove the family member from the public eye for a bit. For being so “concerned”…they have absolutely no issue stepping out into that spotlight. Don’t constantly send them to organizations that are good causes so that they can have a photo op while they draw on bananas and preach about empowerment. If you don’t like the reaction received from the people that you “serve”, then give the public a break. You won’t change opinion. People are not stupid and censorship will make things worse. Citizens have the right to speak freely.

I don’t want to see a woman in an ill-fitting expensive outfit, where it is obvious that she’s more concerned about showing the clothes and catching a pic. I can watch the Kardashian’s if I want to see this. I don’t want to see a woman grabbing, directing and hanging on her husband while she is working. I can flip on the Hallmark Channel if I want to see a horribly acted out, second-rate love story. I don’t want to be told about yoga and the benefits of drinking less alcohol and eating better. I don’t want to hear about meditation and avocados and vegan paint. I am a middle class woman with a family in the US (who reports ALL of my income and pays my taxes) and I don’t want this ridiculous Hollywood fluff thrown at me from the Royal Family. An institution that has been around for centuries and is above this (or at least I thought).

I love the constitutional monarchy and their role in Great Britain. They aren’t celebrities. They are a family who is there to serve. THEIR JOB is to highlight exceptional causes … not to highlight themselves and their lifestyle.

I can only imagine what those who struggle in the UK feel. When I’ve viewed negative MM comments on DM articles, a majority always seem to be from citizens of the United Kingdom which should be very telling and worrisome to the BRF.

I am not a supporter of our President, but my opinion is that this is why Trump won the White House in the US. Washington turned too “Celebrity-ish” and the average American didn’t care about being told that they should live a certain way, do certain things, act in a specific manner, etc. People felt like they were being told to support certain social movements and causes while what did affect their daily lives wasn’t being addressed. If you ignore the pulse of the people (or try to shut them up) – you will lose their support and change will come. In the US, this was shown by the election of Trump. In the UK, this may be shown by the demolition of the BRF.

This DM article is ridiculous. The response to members of the BRF is small compared to criticisms that other public figures receive through social media and other outlets. Again, Trump is an example where many will criticize his actions, his attitude, the color of his skin and his appearance. While these comments may be petty or unkind… it is a right that is given to people to speak their thoughts and feelings.

I like to read this blog and because even if you don’t agree with the post or ask, you share and provide an intelligent, respectful response. This blog doesn’t contain “vitriol” comments and in fact you commonly ask people to not comment with malicious, degrading cruelty towards MM. You encourage anons to speak using intellegent arguments (not insults) and encourage finding receipts and evidence. You have also genuinely supported the BRF, their purpose and the good that they do.

I’ve tried. I have tried to continue to support and defend Harry but he has quickly become a “Candle in the Wind” —- just burnt out and no longer lit. He had SUCH potential. With his position in the family, he truly could have done such remarkable things in the world, as his mother did. He doesn’t have the responsibilities that William has, so he would have the freedom to be like his mother. With his charm, smile and infectious sense of humor, he could have reached and impacted many. I could have cared less what he’s like at home, 2 years ago, I just saw a charming man who had the potential to do many things for his country and for causes like IG. My view of him has been impacted so much in the past 6 months and it breaks my heart.

I’ve only been an observer of Megxit in the past…but now I support. MM on social media, KP and the DM will get no more clicks from my mouse. Don’t tell me how to think. Don’t tell me what to feel. Don’t tell me what I cannot say.
