DM reports Sidney Poitier family are missing after Hurricane Dorian

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families of the Bahamas. The United States jumped right in to help rescue people stranded on rooftops. I know we will remain committed to our neighbor in any way we can. It was reported that one British Navy Royal vessel was there to help.

I do look forward to Prince Charles or Prince William to make a trip to view the devastation and support the commonwealth island.

Please, Support the Red Cross to continue their work when needed.

Ex-Canadian PM apologizes for hoping hurricane hits Mar-a-Lago

Ex idiot wants people to die in Hurricane?  Is she mad about fake climate change? Tough! It’s fake, and the next post is a Kitty Link on false climate change and my links I did last week watching top well-respected scientist claiming global warming is flawed.

Just seen this, JD.

We were right in the middle of the only hurricane in GB in 1987, I don’t think I have ever been so scared, so I understand a little how you must be feeling.

I’ll be thinking of you and everyone in Florida, and I’m praying for you as I write this.

Much love, Kitty ❤

Thank you, Kitty, that means so much to me. The morning forecasts look good for SW Florida, but the East will…

Hurricane Dorian update

Hurricane Dorian expected to gain strength, make landfall as CAT 4 in Florida

A screenshot from NOAAH  of windspeeds for Dorian, notice the dark green dot, that’s me, that’s a prediction of the current models.  The monster hurricane is being predicted to make landfall as a Cat 4 and drop to a Cat 1. The problem is it’s moving so slow that we will get slammed for hours. This is when stuff starts breaking down on your house, your business.

Widespread blackouts and that could mean days without power.  Irma, we went five days without power, and it’s hot with the heat factor of 103.

Many of you may know from Irma that I was scared shitless it was my first hurricane, and Dorian seems to have caught us off guard.  Dorian has been hard to predict. My anxiety level is about seven out of 10 and it won’t drop until we are hunkered down.  I will stay in touch with Vintage through out the storm and as long as I have a working hotspot I’ll continue to post.  We are going to stay this time.

Tallahassee, Fla. – Today, Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order 19-189, declaring a state of emergency for counties in the path of Hurricane Dorian. The Governor is urging all Floridians on the East Coast to prepare for impacts, as the latest forecasts from the National Hurricane Center project Hurricane Dorian will make landfall on Florida’s East Coast as a major hurricane.

By declaring a state of emergency, Governor DeSantis is ensuring that state and local governments have ample time, resources, and flexibility to prepare. The State Emergency Operations Center will activate to a Level 2 on Thursday morning, enhancing the coordination between federal, state, and local emergency management agencies.

“Today, I am declaring a state of emergency to ensure Florida is fully prepared for Hurricane Dorian,” said Governor DeSantis. “It’s important for Floridians on the East Coast to monitor this storm closely. Every Florida resident should have seven days of supplies, including food, water, and medicine, and should have a plan in case of disaster. I will continue to monitor Hurricane Dorian closely with emergency management officials. The state stands ready to support all counties along the coast as they prepare.”

“Because of the uncertainty in the track of this storm, every resident along the East Coast needs to be ready,” said Florida Division of Emergency Management Director Jared Moskowitz.

“As updates come out, it’s important that Floridians continue to pay attention to media and local officials as the track of this storm has been changing and can continue to change rapidly. By having an Executive Order in place and by activating the State Emergency Operations Center to a Level 2, we are fully prepared to support any community that might be impacted.”
