Ryan Eggold, remember him from the blacklist, well he is amazing in his role as the charming Dr. Max Goodwin. There is no BS about it this a drama that makes you feel fantastic about being human. We could only hope for heroes like these characters play.
Touch bases on most social dilemmas happening today in the US, one of them is affordable healthcare. People go into bankruptcy daily because they can’t afford the co-payment and know that first hand with over 25k in one year. I digress, the cast is perfectly matched for this feel-good show.

Eggold recently stepped behind the camera to write, direct, produce and compose the film “Literally, Right Before Aaron,” which is based on Eggold’s award-winning 2011 short of the same name that follows a young man who attends the wedding of his ex-girlfriend. Cobie Smulders, Justin Long, Lea Thompson, and Kristen Schaal star.

On stage, Eggold recently starred in a revival of Arthur Miller’s “All My Sons,” opposite Alec Baldwin and Laurie Metcalf, at the John Drew Theater at Guild Hall in East Hampton, New York.
Born and raised in Southern California, Eggold is a graduate of USC’s theater program. He is a music and theater aficionado and an accomplished musician, singer, director, and playwright.
Jocko Sims plays Dr. Flyod Reynolds cardiac, thoracic surgeon
The writers bring up that only 19% of cardiac, thoracic surgeons are women and there isn’t even 1% of women of color. Woman with Brillant minds needed and damn fast! Dr. Reynolds is thrust into running the department because Dr. Max fires the old establishment over money vs. patient care. Dr. Reynolds, in turn, hires WoC as residents. He is gorgeous has the amazing speaking voice he draws you in, his hair is so cool.
Jocko Sims stars as Dr. Floyd Reynolds on the NBC drama “New Amsterdam.”
Sims is an actor, writer and producer who has had roles in numerous film and television projects, including “Dreamgirls,” “Jarhead” and the 2014 summer box office smash “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.”
For his first series, Sims had a co-starring role on the Starz original series “Crash.” For the past five years, he has starred as Lt. Carlton Burk on the TNT network hit “The Last Ship,” which is currently in its last season. While on hiatus from “The Last Ship,” Sims portrayed Robert Franklin on Showtime’s second season of “Masters of Sex.”
In his downtime from the above projects, Sims has recurred and/or guest-starred on several television series, including “Franklin & Bash,” “Castle,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “NCIS,” “Burn Notice,” “CSI,” “Bones” and most recently on Showtime’s “I’m Dying Up Here.”
As a writer and producer, Sims is currently developing a comedy movie with producers Jamie Neese and Jason Neese (“Umbrella Academy,” “Dear White People”) and has various TV series in development as well.
His hobbies include producing music and managing music artists, and he loves cooking, as demonstrated during his appearances on “Home and Family” and “Steve.”
Originally from Texas, Sims graduated from UCLA with a BA in theater. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
Freema Agyeman stars as Dr. Helen Sharpe on NBC’s new drama “New Amsterdam.”
Agyeman is best known for major roles on “Doctor Who,” “The Carrie Diaries” and the Netflix cult hit “Sense8.” A London native, she has also starred on “Law & Order: UK” and BBC1’s “Survivors” and “Little Dorrit.”
Agyeman’s other television credits include the leading role in Sky’s TV movie “Rubenesque,” CBBC’s “Old Jack’s Boat,” BBC2’s “Torchwood,” BBC1’s “Survivors,” ITV’s “The Bill,” BBC’s “Silent Witness” and “Casualty,” ITV1’s “The Bill” and “Crossroads,” and Sky One’s “Mile High.”
On the big screen, Agyeman has appeared in British indies “Rulers and Dealers,” “North v South,” and Jason Flemyng’s directorial debut, “Eat Locals.”
In her free time, Agyeman enjoys practicing yoga.

Love this character! Freema plays an oncologist that spent a lot of time in front of the camera until patients make her realize they are the important ones in her life. She is brillant, the coolest weave. She brings up there is a huge difference how PoC are treated in the US compared to the rest of the world.
Also pictured with her is the loving Dr. Iggy Frome plays a gay psychiatrist, married with three adopted kids from Bangladesh. You just want to hug him.

Tyler Labine plays Dr. Iggy Frome on NBC’s new drama “New Amsterdam.”
Labine nurtures an impressive body of work that encompasses comedy and drama. In addition to recently appearing as the star of Lionsgate’s comedy series “Deadbeat” for Hulu, on which he served as a producer, he also starred on Fox’s “Sons of Tucson” and has been a series regular on NBC’s “Animal Practice,” CBS’ “Mad Love” and the CW’s “Reaper.” He is also the voice of the Hunk on the DreamWorks Animation series “Voltron” on Netflix.
Labine recently wrapped production in South Africa on Sony’s feature film “Escape Room.” He can currently be seen on Season 2 of BBC America’s “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency,” where he stars opposite Elijah Wood and Samuel Barnett as Sherlock Hobbs, the overly enthusiastic small-town sheriff.
On the feature side, Labine appeared in 2016’s “The Boss,” starring Melissa McCarthy. Janet Montgomery stars as Dr. Lauren Bloom on the new NBC medical drama “New Amsterdam.”
Montgomery will be seen in “Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner’s new Amazon project, “The Romanoffs,” an anthology series centered around people who believe themselves to be the modern-day descendants of the Romanov family. On the big screen, she will soon co-star alongside Megan Fox and Josh Duhamel in the family film “Think Like a Dog.”
Montgomery portrayed the beautiful, ruthless and vulnerable Mary Sibley on WGN’s first original scripted series, “Salem,” starring alongside Lucy Lawless and Shane West. Last year, she was seen in the sci-fi film “The Space Between Us,” opposite Gary Oldman and Carla Gugino.
American audiences may know Montgomery best for her roles as Olivia on NBC’s “This Is Us,” portraying Kevin Pearson’s girlfriend, and as Eric’s assistant on HBO’s “Entourage.”

Anupam Kher currently stars as Dr. Vijay Kapoor on the NBC drama “New Amsterdam.”
Kher is one of India’s most prominent actors. He has appeared in more than 100 plays and has been featured in over 500 films. Besides Hindi cinema, his résumé includes many acclaimed international films, including the Golden Globe-nominated “Bend It Like Beckham,” Ang Lee’s Venice Film Festival’s Golden Lion-winning “Lust,” David O.
